About the quarry
For more than 10 years, a fight has been waged against a quarry project in the town of Mazaugues. This ecocidal project is a major threat to biodiversity. Among others: risk of collapses on a usable water reserve, disappearance of protected species, destruction of a natural area, water pollution. To find out more, we invite you to watch this video:
ZAD de Mazaugues, why?
For years, several associations have been fighting against this project, but unfortunately, as the years pass, the field of legal actions becomes exhausted. The creation of the "ZAD de Mazaugues" initiative follows on from these shortcomings, and aims to propose more direct civil disobedience actions in order to defend this natural area against this harmful project.
Unfortunately, by security risk, we cannot offer direct occupation of the territory: the site, being close to an explosives factory, is classified SEVESO. It is riddled with cavities and areas that threaten to collapse. However, we will not forget the comrades who come from afar. Follow our page and activate notifications to be kept informed!
