Almost everyone requires travel. You may travel more frequently as a businessperson or executive. While flying out of Dallas, Texas, you must park your car safely. If you're going to be gone for an extended period of time, long-term parking at DFW can be costly. Parking can be expensive if you don't do your homework.
DFW International Airport
Dallas Fort Worth International Airport serves 13 counties and is the largest airport in Texas and the second largest in the United States. DFW Airport is the world's third busiest airport for aircraft movement and the ninth busiest for passenger traffic, with over 63 million passengers in 2014.
DFW Parking on-site
DFW Airport provides both short- and long-term parking. There are four options for parking: valet, terminal, express, and remote.
Valet parking is available at four terminals. At DFW, this parking option has no hourly rates and costs $27 per day.
Terminal parking is available at all five terminals on an hourly and daily basis. $3 for 2 hours, $2 for 30 minutes. Fees are the same for 2-4 and 4-6 hours. Parking costs $22 for 6 hours or more.
Express Parking provides covered and uncovered parking as well as an airport shuttle service. Parking costs $2 for two hours, $11 for uncovered parking, and $13 for covered parking per day.
If you need to leave your car at the airport for an extended period of time, remote parking is the best option. Parking costs $1 for two hours, $2 for four hours, $3 for six hours, and $9 for 24 hours. The parking lots are, as the name implies, far from the terminals and necessitate the use of a shuttle.
Long-term parking at DFW airport can be costly, even at the cheapest on-site rate of $9.
Off-site DFW airport parking garages are 3-4 miles from the airport and provide shuttle service 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can park your car for less than half the price of on-airport parking at Remote.
BWI's parking is among the best we've seen at similar-sized airports. In 2010, Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) was named the best airport in the world for its size (15 to 25 million passengers per year).

Hourly parking
In comparison to Dulles or Philadelphia International, BWI's hourly parking rate is $4 (maximum $22). It's also the most convenient, as it's right outside the airport. Even so, parking after 2 hours is costly.
Rates
The daily parking rate at BWI ($12) is less than that of Washington Reagan ($20). For short-term visitors, BWI's indoor daily parking garage is a good option.
Express Parking
The cost of express parking at BWI is $10 per day, which is less than the cost of daily parking. The express outdoor parking lot is likely to be further away than the daily garage. This service, in which an express shuttle picks you up where you park and takes you to the terminal, is a winner in my opinion.
Long-term parking
If you're planning a 7-day or longer business or vacation trip, long-term BWI airport parking is the way to go. The $8-per-day parking lots are served by shuttle buses.
Off-airport parking
Passengers arriving at BWI can use the EconoPark Express lot on Ridge Road or the Park 'N Fly lot on Camp Meade Road. These locations provide long-term parking for $9-$10 per day and have their own shuttles. These long-term parking lots are managed by large corporations with dozens of similar facilities across the country.
Why is airport-owned BWI parking recommended? The prices are clear. Long-term parking at BWI is less expensive than off-airport parking, which is unusual for a major airport.
