The Common Admission Test is an management entrance examination conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) in order to select suitable candidates for admission to their various management programmes. Not only the IIMs, the CAT is accepted by various other major B-Schools in India.
However not every MBA aspirant in the country appears for CAT. The reason for this can be considered the difficulty level of the paper or that the candidates look for ways in order to complete their management studies by opting for other management examinations like XAT, GRE, GMAT. CAT exam: Why does every MBA aspirant appear for the paper?
Every year around 2 lakhs candidates appear for CAT but it can obviously be concluded that the total number of seats in the top B-schools are more than 2 lakhs. The reasons for which every candidate is advised to appear for CAT are given below:
- Difficulty Level: Common Admission Test is conducted by the IIMs which are the top colleges in India for management education. Based on the CAT exam pattern and difficulty level we can say that in order to prepare for the examination candidates need to do whatever they can in order to excel in the paper.
- Managerial Skills: The questions asked in the CAT exam and different topics in CAT syllabus like reasoning, writing and aptitude analyze the candidates for all the skills that are required from a person working at any managerial position.
- Preparation Matters: Working hard and still unable to finally get selected for admission at IIM or any other top B-school does not mean that you are at total loss. Any candidate who has prepared for the CAT examination and worked hard will have mandatorily improved their reasoning skills, reading & writing skills and aptitude which are very helpful for someone who wants to prepare for some other competitive exam, excel in their corporate job and in various other fields.
