When Jerry purchased his first Corvette in 1969, he first became aware of the issues inherent in maintaining and repairing Corvette rear wheel bearings. He didn't make the decision to take action until 1978. He was knee-deep in grease while repairing the rear wheel bearings on a Vette he had purchased to be rebuilt when he realized there had to be a simpler solution. He started to create concepts for assembly and tooling fixtures to construct it with the support of friends and years of tool and die experience he had gained as a supervisor at General Motors. He sought a means of "simplifying the process."
Only the brake flange and bearing supports are recycled; all other parts, including the spindles, are brand-new. Jerry creates his assemblies using recycled cores that are either in stock or returned by consumers. He adheres to the philosophy of "Only the Best for the Corvette." The typical assembly is $325 per side, plus a $200 refundable core deposit fee. If you can locate a technician or dealer who is willing to conduct the work, Jerry claims that this will be significantly less expensive than paying them to complete the task.
