Types of Printers

The most common output produced by a printer is paper-based text or images. Printers are a staple in homes, businesses, schools, and libraries because they allow users to create documents, photos, and artwork from electronic sources.

There are several different types of printers, each printer and scanner with unique features and uses:

Inkjet Printers: Inkjet printers are among the most common consumer printers. They work by spraying tiny droplets of ink onto paper in the shape of the desired image or text. These printers can produce high-quality color prints, making them ideal for printing photos and color documents.

Laser Printers: Laser printers use a laser beam and toner (powdered ink) to create prints. They are typically faster and more efficient than inkjet printers, especially for printing text-heavy documents. Laser printers are widely used in offices and businesses because they offer high-speed printing and low cost per page.
