Many people use Instagram Stories every day, and it's a great way to share things with your audience in a more personal way. One of the advantages of Insta Stories is that they disappear after 24 hours. While this is helpful for those who only want to post the most up-to-date content, there will be times when you wish you could save your story for posterity.
Luckily, there are ways to save and download your Instagram Stories for the future. And if you have the original poster's permission, there are even ways to save someone else's Instagram Stories.
Be aware that it is unethical, let alone Google's InstagramCommunity guidelines, to share content that is not yours without permission.

HOW TO LOAD YOUR INSTAGRAM STORIES ON IPHONE
If you want to automatically save your IG Stories to your Camera Roll on iPhone, you can set it up in Instagram Settings. That's how it's done:
1. Go to your Instagram and tap on the menu (three horizontal lines) in the top right corner.
2. At the bottom, tap Settings.
3. Go to Privacy & Security > Story Controls.
4. Under Save, enable Save to Camera Roll. Now when you create a story, it will be saved on your iPhone.
If you just want to save some of your stories to your photo roll, you can do that too. Disable the "Save Stories to Camera Roll" setting mentioned above and follow the steps below to save only specific stories:
1. Open the story you want to download.
2. Tap the More icon.
3. Tap Save > Save Story or Save Photo/Video to either download the entire story or just the photo or video to your photo roll. If you added music to your story, you don't have the option to save it to your photo roll for copyright reasons.
4. Have you noticed that downloading Insta Stories creates duplicates of each photo? You have the original, possibly an edited version, and the story you saved. An app like Gemini Photos lets you find and group similar shots to decide which ones to keep.

SHARE YOUR INSTA STORY AS A POST10. You can save your Insta Story in two ways. The first is turning your story into a post. It's that easy.
- First, navigate to your Instagram stories and find the ones you want to turn into a post.
- Tap More at the bottom right of the screen.
- Tap Share as Post.
- On the next screen, you can crop your photo or video. Do that and tap Next.
- Here you can edit your story like a regular post, adding filters, hashtags, and captions.
- You should tap share, and your story will become a post in your Instagram feed.
SAVE YOUR INSTAGRAM STORY TO HIGHLIGHTS
Your Instagram highlights are on your profile just below your bio. You can create different categories of highlights depending on what you want to share. If you want, you can have highlights just from cat videos, road trips you've taken, or your favorite outfits. It's up to you.
If you want to save one of your IG stories as a highlight:
1. Open the story you want to save.
2. Tap Highlight.
3. You can now choose to add your story to an existing highlight. If you don't have a highlight yet or want to create a new one, tap the + with New underneath.
4. Name your new Highlight and tap Add. Your new Highlight and the post in it will appear below your profile.
HOW TO SAVE YOUR INSTAGRAM STORY FROM YOUR INSTAGRAM ARCHIVE

To view your Instagram archive:
1. Navigate to your profile.
2. Tap the Archive icon in the top left. It has a shape like a circular arrow with the hands of a clock.
You'll see all the posts you've archived. To access the automatically archived stories and add them to your story highlights, do the following:
1. Tap on the three dots in the top right corner.
2. Now tap Create Highlight.
3. Select the stories you want and tap Next.
4. Enter a title for your new Highlight and tap Add.
HOW DO I DOWNLOAD A STARRED STORY? INSTAGRAM?
Let's say, for some reason, you were unable to save or download your Instagram. To download a story from your highlights, use the methods above. This is quite simple.
1. Go to your profile and scroll through your highlights to find the story you want to download.
2. Tap the Seen by XX icon in the bottom left.
3. Tap the download icon (down arrow over a horizontal line). Your story will be saved in your photo roll.
CAN YOU SAVE SOMEONE ELSE'S STORY?
While it is possible to save someone else's IG story for later viewing, this should only be done with written permission from the story creator. Remember that it is copyright infringement to share someone else's content without their permission. This also violates InstagramCommunity guidelines.
HOW TO DOWNLOAD SOMEONE'S INSTAGRAM STORY (VIDEO)
The easiest way to download someone's Instagram Story video is by using the screen recording feature on your iPhone. So, if you have iOS 11 or later, the screen recording feature is immediately available. To access it, follow these simple instructions:
1. Go to Settings > Control Center > Customize Controls.
2. Scroll down to Screen Recording and tap the + icon next to it.
3. The screen recording feature is now added to the swipe-up menu on your iPhone.
USING SCREEN RECORDING ON IPHONE TO RECORD INSTAGRAM VIDEO
After setting up your screen recorder, you can easily record anything on your screen, including sound and music. To start recording an Instagram story:
1. Navigate the profile of the Instagram story you want to record.
2. Swipe up on the iPhone screen and tap the capture icon. It looks like a small circle surrounded by a larger circle.
3. Swipe down and tap the profile photo to access the story you want to capture.
4. Screen Recorder records everything on the screen, including sounds and notifications.
5. If you don't want notifications to appear in your recording, navigate to Settings > Do Not Disturb to silence notifications and calls before they start.
The screen recordings are automatically saved to your camera roll. You can crop it to remove the beginning and end parts and keep only the story video.
HOW TO SAVE AN INSTAGRAM STORY THAT ISN'T YOURS (PHOTO)
There are many ways to save a photo from Instagram, but you often need to download a third-party app, which is not recommended. The easiest way to save a photo from someone else's Insta feed or their stories is to take a screenshot. Later you can crop out any other elements that you don't see in the photo want to have.
You can take a screenshot; you just simply navigate to the story you want to capture and hold your iPhone's Home and Power buttons simultaneously. Your screenshot will be saved to your phone automatically.
