The colors of the lightsaber blades and their significance:
The colour of a Jedi's saber blade tends to be reflective of other aspects in that person's life. Green, for instance, has been identified as representing commitment, as Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Obi-Wan Kenobi (Alec Guinness) both carried green blades during the events of the original movie. As Skywalker trains with Yoda, his saber blade slowly changes from green to blue. By Return of The Jedi , it has turned a pure blue color as Skywalker is prepared for his final battle against Darth Vader and the Emperor.
The significance of a lightsaber's red color hasn't been revealed in any canon sources, but fans have speculated that it could represent anger, passion or bloodlust. Indeed, red blades are most commonly associated with the Sith Jedi - Darth Maul (Ray Park) had one in The Phantom Menace , as did Count Dooku (Christopher Lee) in Attack of The Clones .
The following chart is based on known canon sources and speculation:
Green: Knowledge and defense (Yoda, Obi-Wan)
Blue: Wisdom and serenity (Luke Skywalker)
Yellow: Aggression (Count Dooku)
Red: Anger or bloodlust (Sith / Dark Jedi only)
Purple: Uncertainty and self doubt (Mace Windu?)
At this time, both Mace Windu's purple lightsaber and Count Dooku's yellow lightsaber are the two best lightsabers available at Zia Sabers. Mace Windu's is a unique color as it is not associated with either the Jedi or Sith, signifying that he is neither light nor dark. Because of its rarity, few will have this blade and will make it an excellent saber to own. Yoda's green lightsaber is also a good choice in the green category, but because of its lack luster stats (damage and defense) it will not outrank either Mace Windu's purple blade or Count Dooku's yellow blades in terms of prowess.
Red lightsabers are extremely rare, thus the only one available is Lord Starkiller's Sith lightsaber. It is highly recommended as it has excellent damage and defense, however, until more red blades become available this will be the best choice for those that want a saber of that color.
Green blades are good all around blades, thus both Yoda's green blade and Luke Skywalker's blue blade are recommended. However, if the player wants to go more offensive, Obi-Wan Kenobi's blue lightsaber is the best choice as it has excellent damage and defense.
Blue blades are also great all around blades, so either Luke Skywalker's blue blade or Obi-Wan Kenobi's blue lightsaber are recommended choices.
Yellow blades are very specific, so there is only one choice for this color - Count Dooku's yellow lightsaber. This blade has a higher damage rating than Mace Windu's purple lightsaber, but lacks the +3 to defense that Mace Windu's saber offers.
Red blades are very much so an offensive saber color, thus Lord Starkiller's Sith lightsaber is the only choice for red lightsabers. This blade has excellent damage, but lacks in defense slightly.
Purple blades can be used either offensively or defensively depending on the player's playing style, thus neither Mace Windu's purple blade nor Yoda's green blade are recommended. Instead, Obi-Wan Kenobi's blue lightsaber is the best choice in this color for its ability to pack a punch while maintaining high defense.
