Abstract

The Safety Data Sheet, or SDS, was an important document that provided information for the safe handling of chemicals and was widely used in the process of communicating chemical hazards. Since the laboratory is one of the locations associated with the consumption of a variety of chemicals, workers there are required to be knowledgeable about the chemicals that are being utilised. This study's objective is to ascertain the attitudes held by workers in a laboratory as well as their levels of comprehension regarding SDS. The quantitative research method was utilised, and data were collected through the use of a questionnaire and a Likert scale before being descriptively analysed. The total sample size consisted of twenty-seven individuals who worked in the laboratory. The findings of this study showed that the vast majority of individuals are in agreement that the SDS provides benefits for workers in the laboratory, that the SDS should be readily available in the workplace, and that individuals believe it is necessary to be familiar with the contents of the SDS. On the other hand, the vast majority of individuals believe that they have obtained chemical information from sources other than the SDS. The findings of this study were presented in the form of a table.
