Because for most, God is the ticket to the good life. They pray, do Pujas, sing his praises & hope to be rewarded. “Gimme this, Gimme that” – prayers, praises ending with “God, please, get me that job or promotion or something else I desire.”
Christians and Muslims, sorry to say, are the worst – not only do they pray for the above but have also colonized Heaven – made God a gatekeeper keeping everyone else out.
