The Life-changing Magic Of Tidying - Marie Kondo

We all must have tried to be more clean and tidy in our life at some point or the other. I went through my own journey of cleaning up my hostel room to make distraction free environment for studying. But no matter how many times I cleaned or rearranged my things, it magically ended up being chaotic in few days. I remember mentally accepting the fact that this is bound to happen in my busy lifestyle and stopped trying altogether until I found this book. I picked it up out of curiosity in a bookstore and soon got addicted to reading the whole KonMari method of tidying. It was hard to believe the scale of impact this book had on so many people's lives. I skeptically decided to give this a try and see if it actually works.
The author suggests to treat tidying as a festival, to get done with it in a single go and see the massive impact it has on our environment. It also affects our mood positively and motivates us to just maintain our beautiful space. The author has very specific and useful tips to tackle each category of our possessions - books, cloths, papers / documents, miscellaneous, sentimental items etc. We should collect all items belonging to a category from our entire home and start discarding things that don't "spark joy". This first step of reducing our possessions really helps to free up space and live our life surrounded only by things that we love. We are forced to confront our reality through the things we own.
I have tried and tested this method my self and I can guarantee that it works fantastically. The changes it brings in self should be experience first hand by everyone. I have seen the transformation KonMari method bought to my home and office space and it has made me far more productive and happy. It also made me confront my life choices and got clarity about what I want is important to me. I highly recommend you give this book a try even if you don't believe its claims. It may just change your life for the better...
