Discovering the wild canids management and conservation in remote hills of Sahara's Mali-Niger borderland. Air Massif of Northern Niger is inhabited by various mystery wolf-like animals. One of them is african wolf Canis anthus, little known canid recorded from all of North Africa, including Sahara. Another mystery canid is lycaon, occured in Egypt until the end of XIX century is now-extirpated from most of their range. It is recorded also from north-east Mali-Adrar des Iforas hills and recognized as distinct race with brownish coat pattern diverged from other african wild dogs (Sayer 1977). Nomads of West Africa reported few of those enigmatic species. I urge to cooperation with specialist from nature conservation associations and academic institutions for assesing the current status and ecology of the canids in that part of the world.
