If you ever have a plumbing issue, don’t take it easy. Take the following steps and get on it right away else it could become a bigger issue and cost you a lot of money. When you have a plumbing issue do this:
Step 1: When you see a plumbing issue do a quick visual inspection. See if there is any water on the floor, wall, or surrounding area. If you see any water turn off the water to that area or the entire home right away. If you live in an apartment, there should be a valve inside your apartment else you need to call the front desk and have them shut the water right away to minimize the flooding. If you have a home, the water cut-off will probably be outside. If you cannot find it, call your gardening service and they may know it.
Step 2: Now that you have stopped the problem from spreading, take a look and see if it is something that you can fix yourself. Sometimes the issue is just a clogged drain or too much soap in the dishwasher that can cause flooding. You can go on YouTube or Google and see if it can be fixed easily. If you can fix it great.
Step 3: If it is complicated and you cannot fix it, go to Google and type: “plumbing repairs El Cajon”. You will see a list of plumbers and plumbing companies. Read their reviews and shortlist a few that have good reviews. Give them a call, discuss your issue then set an appointment for them to visit and fix your plumbing.
Step 4: Once the repairs are made, turn on the water to double-check. If all looks good, you are done. If not let the plumber keep looking for the problem.
