All Yoga Alliance graduates are eligible to become Registered Yoga Teachers (RYTs®) with Yoga Alliance. Once linked, they can use the Yoga Alliance certification marks with their name, in their advertising, on their website, and by registering with the global online registry. The initial registration with Yoga Alliance, known as RYT-200, RYT-300, and RYT-500, enables its members to teach Yoga classes, a high level of competition at work, professional assistance, and a variety of advantages, including discounts on liability insurance, courses, overseas training, etc.
200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training with Yoga Alliance Certification
You become certified as an instructor after completing a 200-hour program, earning the essential credential accepted by Yoga Alliance (USA), the International Yoga Federation, and most regional alliances. The most popular and fundamental certificate that yoga schools provide is the 200-hour teacher certification. It includes an introduction to the History and Philosophy of Yoga and basic knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology, and it serves as the foundational title for teaching yoga.

Do I have to sign up to become an RYT-200?
Registering as RYT-200 with Yoga Alliance (or any other Yoga federation) is not mandatory to teach, and you can do so with the 200-hour certification alone. However, in some countries, being registered as RYT-200 increases your credibility and opportunities for career opportunities. In addition to the various benefits of being registered with a prestigious institution, the largest non-profit organization representing the Yoga community and the organization that best promotes and supports the high quality, safety, accessibility, and equity in teaching Yoga worldwide. Are all 200-hour programs equivalent?

An instructor with a 200-hour yoga certification must finish a 200-hour study program and should get guidance and support from certified teachers while completing their training. One intensive month or a lengthier period of one to two years can each require 200 hours. Yoga Teacher Training for 300 Hours
For those who have finished the first level of 200 hours, this course, also known as the Second Level Yoga Teacher Training, Yoga Mastery, or Advanced Yoga Teacher Training, is suitable. A 300-hour approach cannot replace the Instructor's Course, and its training program must also be 300 hours maximum. Its goal is to finish and complete the training that began with the Instructors Course by enhancing the standards and broadening all practical and theoretical areas.

Yoga Teacher Training for 500 hours
The most significant level of training available to yoga teachers internationally is 500 hours. After completing this course, you can register with Yoga Alliance as an Advanced Yoga Teacher, or RYT-500. A 500-hour yoga teacher program combines 200 and 300-hour programs in most schools. There is, however, a 500-hour certification of its own available at some schools. You can register as an RYT-500 once you have successfully finished the 300-hour course and received accreditation for the 200-hour course. This advanced teacher certification attests to your readiness to teach Yoga with enhanced abilities and knowledge gained through in-depth research in the various branches of yogic knowledge.
Acknowledgment of Professionalism
The Organic Law 5/2002 of June 19 and the Royal Decree 34/2008 of January 18 govern the Certificate of Professionalism of Yoga as a tool for the official accreditation of any professional qualification listed in the National Catalogue of Professional Qualifications in the area of labor administration.
