Even with a medical cannabis certificate in California, there are still things to keep in mind. The Medicinal and Adult-Use Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act (MAUCRSA) of California does not grant patients employment or tenancy rights. This means that if an employer decides to terminate or not hire a person based on the fact that they consume cannabis for whatever reason, you cannot sue them. It is entirely up to the employer's discretion to make the decision.
