One or more symptoms apply to your vehicle?
- Check Control message "lighting system failed"
- for safety reasons the dipped headlights are permanently on
- indicators are not working
- window lifters are not working
- the footwell module can no longer be reached via the diagnosis
Since the control units mentioned above are very sensitive to undervoltage, they can be damaged very quickly.
Your footwell module may be defective for various reasons:
- Undervoltage at the control unit
- Battery has been disconnected
-
Too long downtime (resulting undervoltage) - The footwell module has been coded
- The footwell module has been diagnosed (a simple readout of the fault memory is sufficient in some cases)
- etc.
The above-mentioned control unit is installed in the following vehicles:
- 1 series E81, E82, E87, E88 from 09/2004 - 10/2013
- 3 series E90, E91, E92, E93 from 05/2005 - 09/2013
- X1 E84 from 10/2009 - 06/2015
- X5 E70 from 08 / 2006 - 08/2013
- X6 E71 from 05/2008 - 06/2014
- Z4 E89 from 05/2009 - 2016
Procedure:
1. You send your defective footwell module (FRM3) to us, stating the order number. Alternatively, you can simply bring the FRM over after ordering.
2. We read out the footwell module using special equipment within 24 hours of arrival and restore the defective data record. Thanks to the use of high-quality special equipment, soldering work on the circuit board is not necessary. The data restoration (repair) is therefore not visible afterwards.
3. We will then send the fully functional footwell module back to you via an insured DHL package. The delivery time is usually 1-2 working days. The costs for the return are already included in the price.
The subsequent installation is plug & play. No coding necessary because the data record has been restored.
Note: We do not carry out any manual activities such as installing or converting your vehicle. If this work is necessary, please contact a workshop you trust.
