The new cabinet of the Indian state of West Bengal has been sworn in. A total of 43 ministers were sworn in at the Raj Bhavan in Kolkata on Monday. Mamata Banerjee, who took charge as the Chief Minister for the third consecutive term, was also present.
According to Indian media, 43 ministers were sworn in at the Raj Bhavan in Kolkata on Monday morning. Of these, 40 took the oath in person and the other three took virtual oaths. The event was held in the presence of a limited number of guests due to corona restrictions.
According to Kolkata-based Anandabazar, Mamata's cabinet was sworn in on Monday morning with the national anthem of India. After the full ministers, the independent state ministers took oath together. At the end of all, the state ministers took oath together. The ministers took oath together, not separately, as the ceremony was organized in accordance with the Kovid rules.
The entire swearing-in ceremony ended in just 6 minutes in a cowardly situation. Earlier on Wednesday, Mamata Banerjee was sworn in as West Bengal Chief Minister for the third time in a row.
It may be mentioned that the polling for the West Bengal Assembly elections was held in eight phases from March 26 to April 29. The Trinamool has won 213 out of 292 seats in the election. BJP has won in 6 of them. Elections in 2 constituencies have been postponed due to death of the candidate.
