Wild salmon, offered by some of the best exotic fish exporters in the world, is a type of salmon that is caught in the wild rather than being raised in farms, and is cleaned and packed by seafood processing companies prior to being given to a seafood export company. These fish are born in freshwater streams and rivers, and then migrate to the ocean where they grow and mature before returning to their original freshwater spawning grounds to reproduce. Wild salmon are an important food source for humans and animals, and are also valued for their high nutritional value, particularly their rich content of omega-3 fatty acids. The most common species of wild salmon include Chinook (also known as King), Coho (also known as Silver), Sockeye (also known as Red), Pink (also known as Humpback), and Chum (also known as Dog or Keta). Wild salmon are considered a sustainable seafood choice because they are typically harvested in a way that minimises impact on the environment and maintains healthy fish populations.

How do you cook wild salmon?

There are many ways to cook wild salmon, and the method you choose will depend on your personal preferences and the equipment you have available. Here are a few popular methods:

· Grilling: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Brush both sides of the salmon fillet with olive oil or melted butter, and season with salt, pepper, and any other desired spices. Place the fillet skin-side down on the grill and cook for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until the flesh is firm and opaque.

· Baking: Preheat your oven to 400°F. Place the salmon fillet on a sheet of aluminium foil or parchment paper and season with salt, pepper, and any other desired spices. Add a drizzle of olive oil and/or a squeeze of lemon juice. Fold the foil or parchment paper around the salmon to form a packet, then place the packet on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the flesh is cooked through.

· Pan-searing: Heat a tablespoon of oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Season the salmon fillet with salt, pepper, and any other desired spices. Place the fillet skin-side up in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and golden brown. Flip the fillet and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the flesh is cooked through.

Regardless of the cooking method you choose, be sure to use a meat thermometer to ensure that the internal temperature of the salmon reaches at least 145°F for safe consumption.
