'Heart of Liverpool' Steven Gerrard recently expressed his thoughts on Mohamed Salah's interview.
Salah made no secret of his intense dissatisfaction in the interview after the Leeds United match. He said, "I can't believe I have to be on the bench for the whole 90 minutes. It's the first time in my career this has happened. I don't know why I have to be on the bench. I think the club made me a scapegoat."
"I want to say goodbye to my fans at Anfield. Nobody knows in soccer. We cannot accept the current situation. The club must protect its players," he added, at the center of the hottest controversy in the English Premier League recently.
In this situation, club legend Steven Gerrard opened his mouth. The British "Sports Bible" delivered Gerrard's remarks on the 10th. He pointed out that he understood Salah's feelings themselves, but there was a clear problem with the way he expressed them.
Gerrard said, "I understand that I am upset that I could not participate. However, the expression 'someone threw me under the bus' is wrong. We have to stop at that point. We have to deal with such issues within the coach and within the team."
Afterwards, he said, "Living will regret it by saying, 'I spoke too quickly' on my own. "Every athlete experiences a momentary emotional outburst. I felt the same way."
Virgil van Dijk was named as a key figure to calm the situation. Gerrard said, "This is an issue that affects the fans as well. Van Dijk should take the center stage and play a role in how to organize it."
Referring to Luis Suarez's past conflict with manager Braden Rogers, he also explained, "I've seen this situation many times, and I've experienced it myself."
Finally, Gerrard warned, "Sala is the top scorer and top player. For Liverpool to overcome this situation, he needs to come back and score a goal. If this goes on for a long time, it could lead to a much bigger problem than we know."
