Michigan Online Gambling Revenue

In December 2019, Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed the law legalizing online gambling in Michigan. Following strict licensing procedures, the first online casinos debuted in January 2021. The law allowed Michigan's 12 tribal casinos and three commercial casinos in Detroit to partner with one online casino and one online poker brand each.

The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB), responsible for regulating and licensing gambling activities in the state, set January 22, 2021, as the launch date for online gambling platforms. While many casinos were ready to launch on that date, some introduced their online offerings later.

This page presents essential statistics on Michigan's gambling revenue and provides insights into the allocation of taxes in the industry.
