I’m not one to be easily insulted, and I don’t take a lot of things personal. I’m opening with that help you focus on what I’m about to say next.
I recently had a door and a gate slammed at my consecutively. This has become a reflective moment for me because I wasn’t sure what the context of that reaction was. And I didn’t want to simply ignore the experience because it would truly imply that I didn’t care about the action and in turn the actor. I wanted to let it go so bad; mostly because I didn’t want to dignify it with a response. But now I am confronting the experience and acknowledging that it wasn’t a nice thing to have happened to me.
I’m also ashamed to admit that it would’ve made more sense if I at least understood why it happened to determine whether or not I deserved it.
