The power of love language

According to Gary Chapman, Ph.D in his book titled The five love languages: How to express heartfelt commitment to you mate. He spoke about the five different love languages which include Words of Affirmation, Quality time, Physical touch, Acts of service, and Receiving Gifts. He was so detailed in his explanation about different languages your partner may enjoy.

In my own perspective, Love language is what we value most in friendships and relationships. Even in our daily life, we appreciate when we are loved and we get the right feel about it. Love is a beautiful thing that in respective of your race, nationality, and/or gender, you must enjoy.

1. Words of Affirmation

This particular love language builds your confidence and I call it a morale booster. Your partner gets magnetic feelings about you when you encourage and promise her a whole lot of things. The majority of ladies love this language so much due to its power of assurance.

2. Acts of Service

This simply means doing the things that your partner enjoys the most. Your partner might love you massaging him/her, folding his/her clothes, driving her to market, ironing his shirts, etc. As long as you can discover that which your partner value the most, then you are ready for happily ever after. It is important to know that acts of service do not make you a slave because some people might interpret it differently.

3. Quality Time/Physical Touch

Quality time extends to physical touch. Am not sure you can be in the same space with your partner spending quality time and you will not want to feel her either by cuddling, holding hands, and even kissing. You can never replace this particular love language with anything. Quality time makes you know, understand, and appreciate yourselves and the relationship. You can never be too busy for the one you love. As couples or intending couples, spice up your relationship and make it fun.

5. Receiving Gift

Getting your partner's gifts and friends. Always appreciate anyone you value because you are directly telling them you care.

Why is love language so important?

For a healthy relationship, the importance of love language can not be overemphasized. it is just like asking yourself why do I need to freshen up and look good every day. The psychological impact- love language has an emotional and mental effect that helps you communicate better your feelings and care towards your partner. Your partner gets to think about you every time and this helps your relationship grow to something meaningful and enjoyable. when the mental health of your partner is stable, a distance relationship will not be toxic.

Love is a beautiful thing when the two adults involved are comfortable and have a full understanding of each other's emotions, challenges, or concerns. sometimes, challenging situations might arise that you need need to slow down and understand how he/she hear, comprehend and interpret situations.

However, I have come to realize that especially for ladies, the older you get; the more you exhibit multiple love languages in fact some women exhibit all the love languages. that is they want gifts, quality time, words of affirmation, touch, and acts of service. Then the big question is how do I handle this? This is where communication plays a very vital role in your relationship.

In conclusion, Toxic relationships exist, so for this reason Communication and Understanding are key to beautiful love life.
