Video Business
Are you the person and always has a camera with them, or the kid who ran around with a video recorder, trying to record all of your family's events and memories? If so, video production could be one of the best small business ideas for you. With the popularity of video on social media platforms and the internet in general, there will undoubtedly be a demand for those who can shoot, edit, or both. Even if you have no prior video experience, suin ch as graphic design, there are numerous online courses that will teach you how to cut and edit video using video editing programs such as Adobe or Final Cut Pro.
You can use simple softwares like Invideo, Pictory or Doodly in your starting days.
Digital Marketing Business
Most people I've met who run a digital marketing company have a good understanding of one or two aspects of the industry. If you're primarily serving small, offline businesses, you can start a digital marketing business without having a lot of experience.
If a client requires extensive assistance or work in a specific area of digital marketing that is beyond your expertise, you can hire a specialised expert. I've seen independent digital marketers work together with others who have different areas of expertise. Clients are passed back and forth to ensure the best results and value.
Should you try to start a general digital marketing company first, or should you specialise? It's entirely up to you to make that decision. But, regardless of which path you take, you must prepare a comprehensive business plan. And make sure you're looking out for the best interests of your potential clients, even if that means sending them or subcontracting them to another digital marketing expert when necessary.
Drone Business
Drones offer a wide range of useful services, and the drone market is booming. Drone business opportunities are so diverse that there are many different types of drone businesses.
You could sell and maintain consumer drones. Commercial drones could be sold and serviced by you.
Drones could be used to take photos for real estate or tourism promotion. You could hire drones to film sporting events like soccer and baseball games. Drones for infrastructure inspection could be your specialty.
You could work as a consultant for companies and service providers looking to use drones in new ways. You could also host drone parties, where everyone receives a drone and learns how to operate it. Drones present a plethora of possibilities!
Online Affiliate Marketing
How does affiliate marketing work? You link to a third-party product or company that sells its own product on your website or blog. Amazon is the largest affiliate marketer, with commissions ranging from 4-4.5 percent.
There are also affiliate marketing services such as ClickBank and ShareASale, which offer thousands of products with commissions as high as 70%. It appears to be a simple way to make money, and some people have done well with it... However, in my experience, making a lot of money with affiliate marketing is more difficult than it appears. You'll need to be patient as you build this business. I recommend beginning this business on a part-time basis.
To succeed, you'll need to drive a substantial amount of traffic to your website or blog. They must also have a strong enough interest in a particular topic to consider purchasing a product or service.
If you're serious about affiliate marketing, you should design your website's pages and blog posts to serve as traffic generators for highly monetizable affiliate marketing links. You can also use Google AdWords to figure out which keywords to optimise for to get the most traffic from search engines.
Art Bar
I had a great time with a business group at an art bar in Providence, Rhode Island. We rented the entire facility for our group of approximately ten couples. It was a dedicated art bar – a cross between an art studio and a high-end bar. Music was playing when we arrived, and the drinks were quickly flowing.
The director of the art bar then led us to our studio painting stations. He then gave some painting advice and provided materials. Then he showed us some different photos and works of art to help us with our water colour painting.
The studio setting, music, and encouragement from the art bar director all contributed to us loosening up, becoming more creative, and beginning to create some cool paintings. The fun was enhanced by sharing and discussing our soon-to-be masterpieces. We had our paintings to take home at the end of the evening. Excellent time!
