Inspirutans

Can I actually become a fully grown adult? Or are Orangutans at Forest school better than me when it comes to adulting?

Inspirutans is short for “inspired by Orangutans.” Orangutans are one of the most intelligent animals and shares 98% of their DNA 🧬 with humans.

Unknow to many, they stay with their moms and mimic the things they do until the age of 8 so they can be independent. There are also occasions where teenage female orangutans help in caring for baby orangutans as a preparation for their own parenthood.

I am a massive procrastinator. Although my mom is a great cook, I seldom help her in the kitchen. My sisters do.

Now at the age of 24, I feel the urge to change. For what I should have learned when I was a little younger, I want to learn today.

Just like how orangutans are trained at forest school or in the wild by the adult orangs, I want to prepare myself for adulting, independency, productivity, lifestyle, and who knows I will be a parent someday.

I still have my mom who cooks delicious food and I‘m showing up more in the kitchen.

But this is not only about knowing how to cook. Being an adult is knowing more than that.

Let‘s get it started.
