The largest income, approximately $40 billion, came from the need for heat pumps in the residential sector. This is mainly because heat pumps are now widely used to provide cooling options on hot days and heating solutions throughout the winter. Climate change and government measures to improve energy savings in the residential sector are hence the driving forces behind the demand for these systems.

Furthermore, the heat pumps industry is experiencing significant development due to the IoT's integration with these systems. Real-time monitoring, proactive maintenance, and remote component diagnostics are made possible by IoT-based heat pumps.

These pumps have intelligent regulators that connect to the water heater equipment and monitor environmental changes. In order to make operating next-generation heat pumps as simple as possible, automation and remote control have been the main areas of concentration.
