
Verily I myself do I define.
What fills the space in the mirror,
what absorbs the light in your eyes
is what I made for me to live
and for you to embrace
or avoid.
It occurs to me: it cannot be spelled
in any great treatise of careful prose —
it has to be a reckless poem, in line
with the substance lived.
