With the release of “Lift Me Up” for the most recent “Black Panther” film, Rihanna has returned to the music world for good. This is her first solo release in about six years.
RiRi harmonizes over a sluggish tempo before singing “Lift me up, hold me down, keep me near, safe and sound” in the chorus, which many fans had expected the song to be.
The song will be heard in the next Marvel sequel “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” as we have previously mentioned. Additionally, it was created as a remembrance to the late actor Chadwick Boseman from the film “Black Panther,” who passed away in 2020.
The song was written by Rihanna, Afrobeats artist Tems, Ludwig Göransson, and ‘BP’ director Ryan Coogler.
The “Anti” album, which was published back in 2016, was the last time RiRi independently released music.
During her hiatus from music, the singer had a lot on her plate, including the launches of her fashion line Savage X Fenty in 2018 and her beauty line Fenty Beauty the year before.
Of course, she just became a mother after having a son with her partner A$AP Rocky.
Since she will be performing at the Super Bowl LVII halftime show in February, her fan base will be fortunate to see a lot more of the legend in the near future.
