Victor Osimhen of Nigeria scored a hat-trick as Napoli thrashed Sassuolo 4-0 in their Serie A match on Saturday afternoon at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
The Super Eagles’ forward started the Champions League match between Napoli and Rangers on Wednesday but missed the 3-0 Napoli victory.
Four minutes into the game, Osimhen scored the game’s first goal for Napoli, and fifteen minutes later, he added two more goals to double Napoli’s advantage. To complete a 3-0 halftime victory, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia increased the lead in the 36th minute.
Osimhen scored his hat-trick and the Gli Azzurri’s fourth goal of the game in the 77th minute as Napoli maintained their lead throughout the second half.
Now in his sixth straight game across all competitions, Osimhen has scored. This season, Nigerian players have scored seven goals in seven starts for Napoli. In the current campaign, he has now netted six goals in five straight games for the Italian team.
Osihmen scored three goals to earn his first hat trick in Serie A, propelling Napoli six points ahead of AC Milan, who were in second place.
This season, Napoli is yet to suffer a loss in any tournament.
