There is nothing worse than the squeak of a brand new shoe. Unless you have a head cold, you will be able to hear this irritating sound from across the room. It's your shoe's fault and it's not giving up without a fight. You want to stop that annoying squeak, but it seems as though there is no way to do so.
The following is a guide on how to stop new sneakers from squeaking;
1) Check the inner sole of your shoe. If it is made from leather, check for an extra layer of rubber on the inside. This extra layer will help to quieten your shoes as you walk. You can find this type of insole at most shoe stores.
2) To give them a good long-term try-out, walk around on some different surfaces. Try walking on a dirt path and then walk on the sidewalk after that. Most squeaking occurs when your foot begins to make contact with one specific area within your shoe when you walk. If you can change the area of contact throughout the day, your shoes will not develop that squeaking sound.
3) Try spraying the inside of your shoe with a little bit of silicone spray. This will help to soften up any materials in your shoe that may be causing that annoying squeak. You can find silicone spray at most drug stores. Just be careful not to get it on your clothes and shoes.
4) Make sure you are putting shoe inserts in your new shoes. Shoe inserts will help to keep the lining of your shoe from moving around as much. This moves the contact point of your foot from the different places within the shoe and will help to stop the squeaking that comes with that. If you do not have shoe inserts for your shoes, check at a drug store or buy a box online.
There is nothing worse than shopping for a new pair of shoes and being disappointed when you reach the car only to find that the shoes are already squeaking. It's embarrassing and frustrating. Utilize the above steps and do not let your new shoes leave you disappointed.
