“Since the very beginning, Politic-Ed’s main goal has been to get the general public involved, engaged and understanding the world of politics!” said Politic-Ed’s Editor in Chief, Matthew Booten, to me in an email statement.
“We essentially take a very complex subject, such as “Why do politicians always focus on the economy [during an election]?” and we break it down and explain it to them. We try not to patronize them by writing to them, as though they were three years old, but we do explain the wider implications of a subject.”
He went on to say “For example, if we were talking about the implications of a politician focusing on the economy during an election, we would probably talk about how it’ll attract big businesses, who will ultimately donate to their campaign. We will then talk about how that will not only benefit you as a citizen but also the business!”
We also managed to get a hold of a member of middle management from RCMG- Politic-Ed’s shadowy parent company, of which almost nothing is known. He (who wished to remain annonymous) said:
“Politic-Ed is our flagship political brand. Unlike most other political websites, we are happy to tell you our bias- conservatism in whatever form that may be. Unlike most other political websites, we don’t believe that you should be forced to do tons of your own research when reading one of our articles. If we’re covering the latest Trump ‘scandal’ for arguement’s sake, and the story is on corruption, as we have recently with “Ukraingate” we will probably talk about how impeachment works, or something similar, so you aren’t left scratching your head!”
But how well does Politic-Ed manage to do this?
Personally, from reading just about all of their posts, going from the very back to the very latest articles, I would say they do a very good job of it!
Take this for arguement’s sake, they were writing an article on Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. They talked about how both wanted to introduce a wealth tax, whereas none of the other candidates did. Instead of going into detail about what a wealth tax is, they simply linked to their article on the matter! If I was in doubt what a wealth tax was, I could have just visited their article and it would’ve told me!
They have done the same for so many other political subjects too!
Due to this, I would say that Politic-Ed does a very good job of educating the world on politics as it says its mission is!
