The Black Goldendoodles: Five Things You Didn't Know

The Goldendoodles is a designer breed, or cross of two different breeds, the Golden Retriever and the Standard Poodle. The first Goldendoodle emerged in 1969 when a lady, Monica Dickens decided to create a breed with the great qualities of the Golden Retriever and the Poodle. 1. Three Types Of Fur

2. Temperament

Although both types of dogs, Golden Retrievers and Poodles, are naturally good-natured, it is difficult to determine what type of personality your puppy will have when it grows into adulthood. Part of their temperament will be determined by what type the parents have, and which side of the lineage the puppy will inherit the most. It also depends on how the puppy is raised. If you breed him to be obedient and well socialized, you will have a happier, more well-adjusted dog. Breeders should not attempt to guarantee anything about their black Goldendoodle's temperament and what it will look like as an adult. But they should be able to tell you what kind of temperament the parents have, and be able to let you see the parents to judge for yourself if they appear to be good, well-behaved, friendly and gentle dogs.

3. The Black Comes From The Poodle's Side.

This is especially true if the coat is wavy or curly. If the dog has inherited more of the smooth coat from the Retriever, people might wonder what kind of dog it is, but they might still guess that it has something of a Poodle.

5. It May Not Shed, Or It May Shed A Little.

Poodles are known for not shedding, or for being hypoallergenic dogs. This is a big reason why they are often bred with other breeds, like Labs as well. Again, this depends on the gene pool and how dominant each side of the genes is, whether the puppies inherit more from the Poodle or Retriever side. In any case, at the very least, a puppy can turn into a little shedding dog, which is still a big difference from full-breed Golden Retrievers, which are known for having a lot of shedding.

Goldendoodles make excellent family pets. They are excellent with other pets, children, and the elderly. When trained properly, these dogs are some of the best to fit into almost any type of family and lifestyle. Due to all the good qualities that the two breeds combine in a Goldendoodle, Goldendoodles are often chosen to work as therapy dogs and seeing eye dogs. And being low or no molt dogs, many people who would not normally be able to have a therapy dog due to allergies can have a Goldendoodles and do well.
