1. Who are you and where do you live?
Hey, I’m Fauno and I live in the fourth most populated city in the world: São Paulo.
2. Fauno stands for pan in latin. Is that really your name?
I’ve been going by this name for almost ten years by now. An old boss gave me that moniker since I used to work during the night shift (and satyrs, according to ancient mythologies, would live in the woods, hidden between trees and under the moonlight), as some sort of gardener. Yeah, I know it’s quite unconventional, but I’d pass late hours watering orchids and baking chocolate cakes. Weird job, huh? So Fauno it is. By the way, you shall never question the way people present themselves. It’s a terrible and unpolite thing to do for several reasons I ain’t willing to discuss rn, but brazilians tend to do that all the time. I was labeled Fauno just the way kids are labeled any random name when they are born. I don‘t really know why that‘s so complicated to get by people in this country.
3. How old are you and what do you do for a living?
I’m 32yo and I’ve done several things for a living, most of them related to logistics or data analysis, but also team management.
4. Is that true you don’t wear condoms?
Most people with Asperger‘s syndrome face difficulties with their bodies. For instance, lots of people cannot stand clothes tags, it feels super uncomfortable, distracting and annoying. I personally cannot take pills, they get stuck in my throat and make me choke. So I simply don’t take whole pills, I need to chew them all. They do taste horrible but, as some may know, several people can’t swallow pills as well, so it isn’t actually weird. Similarly, condoms hurt my foreskin immensely, causing lots of pain due to the friction with the rubber. I used to end up hurting myself and partners and that was really sad, to the point I decided not having sex unless I was in a serious relationship, for I think hurting people is unacceptable. Then I started taking Prep and everything went just right. I’ve never had an STD to that day, and sometimes I go months without having sex. Taking Prep isn’t a synonymous of having lots of sex. That’s actually misinformation.
5. What are you looking after on Grindr/Growlr/Tinder?
In 2025, I am less interested in hookups than I was before. I had to interrupt lots of things in my life due to the covid-19 pandemics, as school programs. Now’s the time of starting all those things again, so I don’t really have time or patience to breed all the big boys in the world. I’ve done that before. It was ok but kind of... well, it felt emotionally empty most of the time, turning tiresome and boring. I do like big boys (furry boys, smooth boys, black boys, brown boys, asian boys, white boys, all kinds of chubby men actually), but I’m currently busy and looking forward meeting like-minded people: matching personalities for starting a friendship with benefits or even a formal relationship. But a healthy one, not a maniac one as I had in the past. Sex isn’t the main goal now, I don’t think sex is the best part of a relationship anymore. The partnership is. The friendship, the loyalty, the company, the shared values.
6. What do you mean by a maniac relationship? And what kind of people would you consider like-minded?
When I refer to some relationships as maniac, what I mean is demanding. I had exhausting relationships in the past, being required to take care of all the emotional labor involved. And that’s a mistake. A huge one. Communication is key and a single person cannot carry alone the weight of making things work. So, a maniac relationship, as I think, is a one-sided relationship: a position where one feels entitled to be pampered limitlessly, not worrying about matching the other person's efforts. In other words: taking a partner for granted. It kind of tells about who would be like-minded to me: a caring, appreciative, hands-on guy. I believe adults should not put themselves in a childish position, wanting to be taken care of but not bringing the same to the table. That’s unreasonable and selfish, and sort of portrays a tendency of living with one’s parents having no deep accountability for one’s own existence. Of course it’s a great thing having close ties to your parents, but if you ain’t able to cut the cord because you seek endless comfort, how can you imagine you’re ready to be in a serious relationship? You ain’t getting involved in adult life as your very parents did before you were born. Some may argue “oh, aren’t you paying attention to the economy“? As if I don’t live in the same freaking world! Of course I do. But I need to have privacy, total freedom, silence, personal routines and so on. My place is essential and I think it‘s definitely a turn-off when a guy isn‘t seeking his own journey, just for the fear of failure. So, a like-minded guy would be a courageous guy. ‘Cause that‘s exactly what I am. I don‘t fear making mistakes: I fear losing my life afraid Imma feel pain or regret decisions. That‘s all part of adult life. And I look for adults, naturally.
7. Don’t you think that’s kind of harsh?
No, because I ain’t exactly judging anybody. I just can’t relate with guys stuck in safe harbors. I mean, of course we all do look for safe harbors but, for that, we need to sail first. So we can find our own harbor. It isn’t a crime living with your parents. The problem is: once you start a serious relationship, how can you be able to handle life’s difficulties, if you never faced them in the first place, always having someone to catch you before you fall? That’s the recipe for turning your partner’s life into a flaming hell. Deep learning always comes from experience. Avoiding building your own yellow brick road will throw mud all across those your loved ones are paving. And that’s shamefully unfair. So I think it’s pretty cool saving up, having someone to cook for you, to do your laundry or to split the bills, not having to pay rent. However, you should just ask others the same thing you can offer. That’s called fairness. Equality. Thou shall never demand what you can’t offer. This should be in the bible. Oh, by the way, I ain’t a christian.
8. Ok. Do you believe in God or something, tho?
Huh... nice question. I don’t believe in anything. I see that nature looks magical and fascinating, and a sense of awe is inevitable before it all. The universe is great! I believe in doing no harm to people and animals. Unless you’re killing the animals so you can eat - after all, animals kill animals to eat all the time. There isn‘t anything moral about it: it‘s just how nature does function. I cannot relate to christianity or other religions because they prey on weaknesses and vulnerabilities to control people and take their money. You can say “oh, but Jesus was nice”. Jesus never said a word about slavery and many other disgraceful aspects of his time and culture. On the contrary, Jesus said parents should hate their kids if they weren’t his followers, and even praised slave owners. I cannot condone these things and many others. If you believe in God, first you should be able to explain what the fuck is a god and where do gods come from, what they are made of and so on. Otherwise you‘re just dumb, I‘m sorry. That said, I had both christians and atheists as boyfriends in the past and, tho their personalities were heavily influenced by their upbringing, I can honestly state morals are not related to beliefs. But I‘d rather not to date a religious person again. Or an atheist unaware of the reasons they‘re atheists. They‘re kind of the same thing: sheeps moving among flocks, not knowing exactly what they think. Hell yeah, atheists can also be sheeps. Lame and evil ones. Just like theists.
9. What are your hobbies?
I used to cook desserts and play the guitar in the past. I loved camping as well, but the pandemics (here we go again) made it impossible (meanwhile, cooking and playing guitar were great options). Now I keep loving nature, and I adore to read nonfiction books as far as I remember I could read. I was a film student as well, so I have a huge interest in cinema. Not exactly in the stories, but in the visuals.
10. What’s on your playlist?
Bob Marley, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Marilyn Manson, Norah Jones, Jamie Cullum, Amos Lee, Bob Dylan, Madeleine Peyroux and William Fitzsimmons. That’s my global top 10. I’m always listening to Charlie Brown Jr as well, to mention a brazilian band.
11. What would you do if you were rich?
I’d spend all my time learning new things. And I’d start an NGO to help vulnerable gay youth. I was a vunerable gay youth as well. So I feel like I’d like to help others.
12. What is your major weakness?
I’m hyper independent, and that’s kind of a trauma response of when you had to be stronger than appropriate.
13. What is your major quality?
I‘m a peaceful dude, and almost everybody seems to feel comfortable around me. Pets as well.
14. Are you a leftist?
I don’t exactly love the left but I always voted for the left.
15. How do you define yourself in the gay community?
I don’t know: some people say I’m a cub, others say I’m a chaser. I just think I look like a furry Steven Spielberg’s ET. I like myself the way I am. I don’t feel like changing, except for maybe gaining some more pounds this 2025. 20 pounds or 25, to match the year number would do. Will do. Hopefully.
16. What’s your instagram handle?
It’s @faunofortheaudiences, but I only do post stories. You won’t find a grid there. My dad was a photographer, so I’m kind of over it. I do have stories fixed tho, so people can see me after following.
17. What is your fetish?
I think fetishes are overrated. I cannot see sex or love as entertainment. As soon as there‘s a performative behavior involved, I quickly lose interest. I believe in sexual behavior as a mean, not as an ending. And for me, it’s a mean to connect emotionally. Not to play characters or roles. I’m a top, that’s enough. Way beyond that I’m human and there’s lots of things involved when you’re human. Ignoring this can make things dry and robotic. I mean, even male lions do show lots of affection when mating. Only humans act like mechanical morons. Having a playbook for sex, as fetishes usually demand, is simply artificial. I like to go according to what I feel. Verbally suggesting the actions before, of course.
18. What you don’t do in sex?
Choking, spanking, slapping, hurting.
19. What‘s a great date?
I don‘t look for greatness externally. As I said, I don‘t think sex or love are forms of entertainment. I think a calm place around nature or a coffe shop are good alternatives, so it‘s possible to talk with tranquility.
20. So are you, after all, looking for sex or a relationship?
I'm looking for a significant other. Or some. A publicly gay person, online, offline, totally out of the closet. Because only someone who lives their own truth will be able to handle someone like me: a person unafraid of other’s opinions. I do always walk the talk, therefore I look for chubby guys like this as well.
