1. Ramanathaswamy Temple, Rameswaram

This vast destination is considered one of the Chardham (4 important site of pilgrim) of Hindu religion. Which means it is one of the must visit place at least once during their lifetime. It is also counted as one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva.

Rameswaram is a significant destination in the Ramayana too. As it is said that Lady Sita built the Shivalinga over here for Lord Rama to worship, so that he absolves his sin of killing Ravana who was a Brahim.

2. Shiva Temple at Trichy

Modern day Trichy was the Kingdom of Ravana’s brother Trishira and here on the banks of river Kaveri is an incredibly old temple of Shiva where Lord Ram had offered prayers.

3. Sri Rangnathaswamy Temple, Srirangam

This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is an excellent piece of Dravidian architecture. It is here that Lord Ram prayed to Lord Vishnu and presented the idea to Vibhishana, brother of Ravana the idea to become his successor.

4. Kummari Amman Temple, Kanyakumari

The temple is dedicated to the virgin Goddess Kanya Kumari, an avatar of Goddess Shakti. It is said when ask for the blessings at this temple, you will leave with peace and prosperity in your heart and life.

5. Monolithic Rock Temple, Mahabalipuram

The town is known as temple town and is a UNESCO World Heritage site which dates back to 7th century. You must also visit the gigantic bas-relief works carved in granite from the same period.
