A course in miracles is a spiritual teaching that offers a radical shift in our understanding of reality. It helps us surrender ordinary perceptions, conventional thinking, and comforting beliefs in favor of a moment-by-moment wisdom that comes from an instinctive goodness.
Gary Renard wrote a book about two mysterious strangers who appeared to him in 1992, telling him that they were "ascended masters" who had come to reveal shocking secrets of existence and teach advanced forgiveness. It is a fascinating tale.
The Basics
Gary Renard began his spiritual journey with a rock-and-roll background, and eventually he was introduced to two Ascended Masters who explained the fundamental philosophy of A Course in Miracles to him. These two ascended masters carefully elucidated the core of the Course’s spiritual teachings to him over several years and numerous appearances.
He then compiled these teachings into a book, which he called “The Disappearance of the Universe.” His books elaborate on the spiritual classics A Course in Miracles and The Gospel of Thomas, and focus on the development and practice of “advanced forgiveness,” a unique brand of forgiveness that if fully understood and practiced can bring perfect peace to one’s life.
Lessons 1-12
A Course in Miracles is a modern spiritual teaching that is designed to help its students move through the most difficult stages of their spiritual development. Its teachings include a profound discipline of forgiveness that aims to help students shift from cause to effect.
In the early 1970s, Helen Schucman dictated A Course in Miracles to Bill Thetford, who typed it and helped it be published. The result was a three-volume set of books — Text, Workbook for Students, and Manual for Teachers — that is now considered to be the original edition of A Course in Miracles.
In the ensuing years, Schucman and Thetford undertook a substantial editing process that involved retyping much of the work, as well as adding new material. The resulting text, sometimes called the “Original Edition,” contains the same core material as the First Edition, but is subject to a number of changes in paragraphing, punctuation, capitalization, and section titles.
Lessons 13-24
When Gary Renard first began his study of A Course in Miracles, two "beings" appeared to him during a meditation session. They carefully explained the fundamental philosophy of A Course in Miracles to him.
The Course is based on a profound understanding of reality. Its emphasis on forgiveness makes it an intense and rigorous mind training discipline.
This is a powerful message that can help you to see your true self and experience spiritual transformation. It can also help you to develop a strong sense of integrity and authenticity in your daily life.
However, this book does have some issues that you should be aware of before starting to read it. One of them is that it contains a lot of jargon and terminology that may not be familiar to you.

He is an international speaker on the Course and has appeared in over 22 languages and continues to speak and write. He and Cindy also give all-day seminars on A Course in Miracles which feature question and answer sessions, meditations, and music by Cindy.
At this point in the book, Renard already knows that Thomas is a gospel discovered in 1945 and Q is a hypothetical gospel that no one has ever discovered, so it makes no sense to ask him about the latter. Instead, it seems that the question is a set up for material that follows: in this case, the teachings about true perception.
