Whenever you worry about something, or feel that someone else is doing something wrong to you, you are probably having an attack thought. This is why it’s important to practice forgiveness for these thoughts in ACIM. libro de ucdm
In this article we’re going to take a look at some of the common reasons why we have these thoughts, and how we can work through them.
1. They are a form of vengeance
When a person holds acim attack thoughts in his mind, it is easy for him to see the world as a form of vengeance. This is because every perception of “external reality” is a picture of the attack thoughts that caused it to appear in the first place. This process is called seeing and is a kind of fantasy or hallucination, which are not things anyone would want to experience. Hence, the only way to escape this world is by giving up attack thoughts. If you are able to do this, you can begin to live a more peaceful life.
3. They are a form of hallucination
There is a fine line between the real and the artificial, and acim attack thoughts can easily cross this one. They are a form of hallucination, and the right mind will recognize them for what they are. A mind that is invested in the world of attack will see a world that is a lot more complex than it really is. It will also have a hard time believing it is actually possible. A mind that is genuinely in God will know this and see it for what it is.
This is the main reason why we have to practice acim attack meditations. It is the most important thing you can do to remove the cause of this vengeful world. You have to realize that the world you see is a symbol of your own vengeful thoughts and that each of your perceptions of “external reality” is a pictorial representation of this fact.
4. They are a form of projection
The ego uses projection as a means of justifying attack thoughts. It maintains the idea of separation and a split mind as long as it believes that the other person is separate from himself or herself, thereby keeping you separated from them and obscuring your true perception of yourself. It makes you feel abused, neglected, unfairly treated or taken advantage of in some way. It keeps you from seeing your brothers as your spiritual equals, and it creates an external world of vengeance and fantasy.
Projection is the ego’s attempt to keep you apart from your brothers, to separate you from your own Spirit and to make it feel as if you are not equal with them. It is a false perception and it does not represent reality.
