I am aware that lots of of you're possibly shocked at the costs, but anybody who frequently buys unpasteurized milk is probably nodding their mind in agreement.
Now, that's not to say that you can't, sometimes and in certain areas, find it a little cheaper, but these are what I would contemplate reasonably normal prices in my throat of the woods.Okay, this is what happened. I came across myself needing a fresh milk cow and started checking the local classified ads online. Following a few weeks of not really obtaining a lot of anything, I occurred upon an ad that appeared good so I put up an session to move check out the cow.
Skipping forward, we ended up determining to purchase that cow, a lovely brown swiss, and I spent some time chatting with her very nice owners. It turns out which they do lots of featuring, and they've many dairy cows. I should tension these are DAIRY cows. Right? Therefore, many come in milk. Properly, as it happens that they don't milk their cows (they hold the people in dairy at a dairy later on - the dairy keeps their milk in exchange because of their treatment while they're "fresh" or in milk).
These individuals don't drink the milk, don't dairy the cows, and couldn't treatment less about some of it. They just show the cows. In reality, the owner of this cow said that had they identified me the week before they would have given me a lot of dairy because they threw it all out when these were at the fair.You see, once they get the cows to different festivals and fairs to be found, they have to go ahead and dairy them independently and they simply throw out most of the milk.
Sure, milk that is offering for $10.00 to $20.00 per gallon about here.I was so shocked to listen to of this. I also requested her if this was the typical attitude of people who show dairy cows on the signal she is familiar with, and she claimed, sure, it was. Therefore, each one of these wonderful dairy cattle, all of this beautiful raw dairy, and everything gets tossed out like old bathwater? Really?Yes.
Seriously.To be honest, had I had the oppertunity to obtain this milk, I possibly could have merely held it for my pets (I give them raw dairy and they are very healthy) because I am scrupulous about my practices with organic dairy in that I milk the cow, stress the dairy, and use it in the fridge for one hour or two right away for the dairy our household drinks. Obviously that might be hard to do at the fairs/festivals. But still....just the idea of all that milk being trashed!
