Ubisoft Opens Registrations for Project U Play Test

Ubisoft has just published the official playtesting website for Project U, its all-new co-employable multiplayer shooter. While it's been known for some time now that the publisher has a number of secretive projects in production, any potential specifics have been murky, best case scenario, with leaks and details seemingly missing any relevant information about a new center multiplayer shooter.

Whereas Ubisoft might have proactively had a couple of tries at concocting a thrilling and novel helpful game thought, Project U seems to have a number of things going in support of its. Most notable is, perhaps, the way that it's described as a "new concept of session-based center shooter," where players are tasked with cooperating to survive a staggering onslaught of some sort.

Since Project U is just barely about to enter one of its earliest playtesting phases, Ubisoft is rather selective as to what information it's sharing with its expected testers. Unlike the PvPvE The Division: Heartland, which is mostly a known quantity at this point, Project U is undeniably more mysterious. Interested players can sign up using the official Ubisoft game page, and though everybody is free to do as such, it merits bringing up that main players from Western Europe will be qualified for joining during this specific phase of playtesting.

Curiously, Project U had no presence whatsoever at this year's Ubisoft Forward showcase, though this isn't necessarily surprising, contingent upon just how from the get-go being developed the game may be. With virtually no media shared and nothing short of the basic gameplay pitch showing up on the website, Ubisoft is purposely looking not to draw in very widespread consideration just yet, and it's quite feasible that the official uncover will not be occurring for an extended period of time still.

The single piece of joined media is somewhat unremarkable, too, but it does seem to suggest that Project U is about managing a machine danger of sorts. The showcased drones look somewhat similar to the ones appearing in Ubisoft's Ghost Recon Breakpoint, and it's surely not impossible that the two games are somehow associated with each other.

While discussing Project U, making a distinction among it and Ubisoft's Project Q and its NFT controversy might be wise. Specifically, Project Q is a group fight field game that will somehow use Ubisoft's NFT technology. Whether Project U ends up using NFTs remains yet to be seen, but the feature is unlikely to be vital during its earliest playtesting beta, anyway.
