One of the many things I like to travel to the Gulf is to buy an old one (aloeswood). Although I still have to find clean old wood or old oil equivalent to what I get locally here in Oudimentary California. During my travels (almost every old man I see in the Gulf is waxed, which destroys the natural scent of the burned old) I always enjoy a new old mix in regional and world perfumery houses. . I visited Saudi Arabia three years ago and you can see the beginnings of the world's major perfume companies, which produce old perfumes for markets in the Middle East. Now you will have a problem finding a major player in the global perfume business without the former perfume on the market. Like most things in life, my taste has changed with age, I love the pure old and I wear it almost every day, but when I started with blends, I found that it was more balanced than the everyday scent. This is a short list of my ten favorites so far, almost all of which can be worn by both men and women and are commonly sold as unisex perfumes. While it's easier to find these scents because they're concentrated together in stores like Areej or Duty Free Golf Airport stores, you'll find most of these scents in the United States.
Leather Oud - Christian Dior
On this journey, my favorite Oud mix is the exotic Leather Oud. I say weird because the skin peels very hard on the first spray. I sprayed it for the first time for a short flight, and spent the next hour and a half sniffing my hand and pondering the depth of the scent. It's a unique scent because it changes every 15-20 minutes and the old base tones are so beautiful. It's also one of the longest old mixes I've ever had.
Old Royal - Giorgio Armani
Old Royal was my wife's favorite perfume on our way, this unisex perfume has long but light old tones. However, thanks to the amber and floral note, you can say that this scent relies on a woman's scent. More than anything else, I think it's a balanced and wonderful scent.
Mukhallat al Shams - Ajmal
The strongest old fragrance of all the scents on this list and also the hardest to find in the United States, Mukhallat al Shams is a classic fragrance. Ajmal was founded in India and is now headquartered in Dubai. Mukhallat al Shams is the lightest of the three perfumes in this range, with each step featuring a cleaner old scent (try Dahn Old al Shams if you want something stronger). We also love Ajmal's new series called W, especially Amber Wood.
Amouage - Honor a woman
We spent a lot of time at the Amouage store in Abu Dhabi connected to our hotel, while the coverage of this Omani perfume company was incredible, this fragrance turned out to be my favorite. In the general line of Amouage perfumes, they use one color and one name and then produce different perfumes for men and women bound to each of them. The tribute to women shows a delicate floral scent that is beautiful in depth.
Old Maliki - Chopard
I accepted Old Maliki as a gift after I first fell in love with it in 2012. Chopard is better known for its over-top watches and jewelry than for its fragrances, but it's a long-lasting beauty with deep tones, so old. Although I love this scent, spicy cinnamon does, because its tones take long breaks in wearing it.
