Preshipment inspections are a part of the third-party services offered by quality control companies. With many manufacturers in the US and Canada turning to Mexico for sourcing, it’s vital to perform the necessary inspection services before sending the material.

Preshipment inspection services, Mexico are conducted to assure the supplier that the products they finalized for shipping are of good quality and don’t have any defects. It provides them approval that the shipment is ready for its destination market. The General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) (which later became WTO) introduced pre-shipment inspections in 1994 to improve the quality of international trade standards.

· Onsite Visit and Verification

Preshipment inspections are done on-site either at the factory or the production unit. Sometimes, the inspectors may recommend third-party lab testing, depending on the products. Then, the quantity of the shipment is verified to ensure that it matches the official documents.

Electrical tests are for electronic items to check for voltage, insulation, leakage, etc.

· Final Inspection Report

The final pre-shipment inspection report provides an insight into the findings and declares whether the ship has passed or failed the test. A pass means that the shipment can be sent to the client.
