Amana is an American manufacturer of household appliances. The company founded by George Foerstner in 1934 in Middle Amana. When it began, it manufactures commercial walk-in coolers under the Electrical Equipment Co. Later, Amana Society owned this business and then became as Amana Refrigeration Inc. Now, Whirlpool Corporation acquired the company.
